Karona Poindexter, clarinet: M.M. and B.M., clarinet performance (magna cum laude), The Catholic University of America. Ms. Poindexter has studied with Lora Ferguson of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, William (Bill) Wright of the National Symphony, and Charles Stier. Ms. Poindexter is an adjunct faculty member at Gonzaga College High School. She is an active freelance musician in the greater Washington DC area and performs with The Washington Metropolitan Trio. She has performed at Toby's Dinner Theater in "Meet Me in St. Louis" and as principal clarinetist in the orchestra of the Alfred Street Baptist Church's 200th Anniversary Celebration. Ms. Poindexter is also a DC Youth Orchestra Program alumna.


Marty Nau, saxophone, jazz ensemble: Former lead alto sax, Navy Commodores. Member, Capitol Quartet. Mr. Nau has performed with Tommy Dorsey and Dorsey Brothers orchestras, Blues Alley Big Band, Bill Potts Big Band, Guy Lombardo, National Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, and the Baltimore Symphony.

Currently Mr. Nau teaches jazz saxophone at Virginia Commonwealth University, and the Washington Conservatory of Music, and leads the Marty Nau Quartet, which has recorded three CDs under an independent label. He has also performed with musicians Dizzy Gillespie, Eddie Daniels, Stanley Turrentine, Joe Williams, Rosemary Clooney, Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, and Maureen McGovern. Mr. Nau is also the lead alto with the Great American Music Ensemble and a Selmer jazz clinician.


Susanna Ravinsky-Gray, recorder: M.S., music education and voice, Catholic University of America; B.A. English literature, Bucknell University; advanced certificate, Kodaly Institute; solfege and voice studies, Liszt Academy. Ms. Ravinsky-Gray has taught at Alexandria Public Schools, American School in Kfar Shmaryahu, Israel, Mater Amoris Montessori School, and American School in Budapest, Hungary.







Richard Spece, clarinet, woodwind coach: D.M., Indiana University; M.M., University of Washington; B.M., Portland State University; studies at Hochschule für Musik, Detmold, Germany. Dr. Spece has taught clarinet at universities in Oregon, Washington, Indiana, Texas. He performs on both modern and period clarinet with ensembles in U.S. and Europe including the Westwood Wind Quintet, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, and the Portland Baroque Orchestra. He has performed on several chamber music series including the Mozart Society of California Chamber Music Series, New York Summer Festival of Sacred Music, and the Temporada de Conciertos Primavera, Chihuahua, Mexico.


Kenneth Stilwell, oboe, woodwind coach: M.M. Peabody Conservatory and B.M./B.A. Oberlin Conservatory. Mr. Stilwell was a student of Joseph Turner, James Caldwell, and Alex Klein. He has performed with the Delaware Symphony, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and is currently performing with the Lancaster Symphony (English Horn). Mr. Stilwell is a former adjunct faculty at Towson University, University of Alaska Fine Arts Festival, and Baltimore School for the Arts. Currently teaches at Towson University Preparatory Division.





Sharon Woster-Pabon, flute: M.M., flute performance, Peabody Conservatory of Music; B.M., flute performance, Catholic University of America. Ms. Pabon is a winner of the Flute Society of Washington's Collegiate Soloist Competition and Masterclass Competition. She has performed with the Summer Opera Theater Company and Opera International. An active freelance musician, she currently performs with Capitol Flute and Harp Duo and the Washington Metropolitan Trio. Ms. Pabon has been a DCYOP flute instructor since 2000 and also teaches at Musical Expressions in Washington DC.
