Passport to Summer is DCYOP’s summer program offered each year in late June/July.

Two Summer Programs for All Experience Levels
We offer two summer programs for students of all levels. Programs take place at Takoma Elementary School (subject to change), located at 7010 Piney Branch Rd NW, Washington, DC 20012. Programs run from 9:30am to 3:30pm each day and early drop off is available for an extra charge.
Orchestra Explorer Program for Beginners
This program is a one-week exploration of orchestral music for beginners who have never played an instrument (1st–3rd grade) or for Current DCYOP Level A/Continuing Level A Students. Two, one-week programs will be offered (dates TBD).
It will consist of:
- Exploring, learning about, and trying instruments from different instrument families
- Exploring orchestral music alongside visual arts
- Exploring music and movement (dance/yoga)
- Screen-free outdoor play
Orchestra Explorer Program
Tuition
$450/week (tuition assistance may be available)
Early drop off at 8:00am is available for an additional cost of $50/week.
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.
Program Size
Each session is limited to 12 students.
The program is one week one and curriculum repeats for both weeks.
